Adda brings to the table 35+ years of experience in intellectual property practice serving the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical industries; an international network and name recognition; and a high-energy, creative and practical problem-solving approach. The technologies she practices in range from stem cells and gene therapy to chemotherapeutic and immunotherapeutic agents to small molecule pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, biofuels and dairy products.

One aspect of Adda’s practice is directed to preparing and prosecuting patents, developing patent portfolios, devising, reviewing and managing patent strategies and conducting patent audits. Another aspect is focused on counseling: rendering exculpatory and pre-assertion opinions; directing freedom-to-operate investigations and analyses; developing strategy for and managing patent term extensions and Orange Book listings; and advising on Hatch-Waxman and more generally on drug development and registration issues.

Adda has assisted numerous enterprises at home and abroad in conducting and defending due diligence investigations and in achieving resolution of emerging issues. She negotiates and drafts technology transfer and other IP agreements (e.g., licensing, sponsored research, joint development, employment) and IP-related provisions of corporate transaction documents.

She also has significant expertise advising on contested and other post-issuance patent matters: litigations, interferences, inter partes reviews, reexaminations, reissues and oppositions.

Writing , Speaking and Awards
Adda writes and speaks frequently on various intellectual property topics and legislative developments. For over 10 years, she has co-chaired Patent Boot Camp, an annual three-day seminar and clinic for the Practicing Law Institute. She is an invited co-chair of the American Conference Institute’s Summit on IP Due Diligence to be held in Philadelphia Nov. 2-3, 2017. She has been selected as a “Top Rated Lawyer” by American Lawyer Media and Martindale-HubbellTM and as a New York Super Lawyer (2006, 2013, 2015, 2016) and has been a member of the New York City Bar Association, Patents Committee.
